As pressure and uncertainty surmounts for many, it is important for us to remember that God loves us and that it is His will for our lives to be mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1:2 KJV)
It was Wednesday and I had gotten up extremely late. After making my bed, I realized that I was in a season of self-care and that it was okay for me to sleep just a little longer, at least for now.
When we use the term self-care, it's easy for us to think about all the ways we care for ourselves aesthetically. The routine maintenance that we as women indulge in or provide for ourselves goes a long way, but it's what's on the inside that matters the most. The coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 has become a global pandemic and as a result, I really wanted to be sensitive to people who were hurting during this time. There are many people who have been temporarily laid off or who have permanently lost their jobs. Through schedule changes, school suspensions and cancellations, and ultimately a new normal, God gives us hope, love, encouragement and freedom through His Word.
In this vlog, I discuss the importance of asking for help, being honest with yourself and others, giving yourself permission to cry and feel your emotions, as well as taking care of your body. I also discuss the importance of checking on everyone around you, not just your strong friends. Click the link below to watch more.
