Fully Devoted to Him | March 2021

Staying connected to God is more important now than it has ever been. With so much going on in the world, and with so much to do, sometimes the important things can get lost along the way.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee." Psalm 148:3

When we are devoted to something, we have a profound dedication or an earnest attachment to the particular cause, assignment, or its purpose. When we understand who God is and the love He has for us, we become devoted to Him. The devotion that arises from our understanding creates an atmosphere for obedience.

It is important for us to listen to, hear, and understand His unfailing, never-ending love for us in the morning. (Psalm 1:2-3) The morning is the first part of the day. It has the ability to set the tone and the foundation that we will build upon for the rest of our lives.

If we understand the character and the nature of God and the depth of His love for us, we will begin to devote ourselves to Him in the morning. As we continue to devote ourselves to Him, we will naturally and daily become obedient to His will, His way, and His Word. We will follow HIs direction for our lives. When we do this, He promises that we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. We will bring forth fruit and whatever we put our hands to, will prosper.

In Christianese, it sounds so cliché, but when a tree is planted by the river, it's roots flow into the stream. (Jeremiah 17:8) Since the roots are constantly connected, they have everything they need. What a good and wonderful Father we have who wants to ensure that we lack for no good thing.

When we devote ourselves to God, His will, His way, and His Word, there is no need to worry, there is no need to fear. There is no doubt in our minds that He has and will always have everything under control.

If you are worried right now, searching for an answer or if you need hope, help, or healing, I encourage you to seek God. Spend time in His Word and allow Him the opportunity to speak to you early in the morning.
